The stash is officially busted! I‘ve used up nearly all of my left-over yarn scraps and half-balls and am ready to start afresh with new wool, new colours, and new ideas.
From the yarn in my stash I made two baby blankets, nine (!) hats, a little neckwarmer/scarf thingy, and a bunch of circles that will soon become another baby blanket. Of course, I've had to buy more yarn to finish this blanket, but that's OK since I already have plans for those leftovers.
I must say, it feels good to use everything up and not have stuff collecting dust or
going to waste. It wound up being kind of a challenge I set for myself and I had a really good time doing it. I wasn't thinking in terms of the shop or products, instead I just went with the flow, experimenting and making whatever came to mind (apparently hats and blankets mostly came to mind - maybe because the summer's been so cold here this year), and not worrying too much about "perfect". The surprise bonus was that it got my creative juices flowing and I found myself taking my little sketchbook to bed to finish getting ideas down on paper, afraid I might forget them by the morning. Naturally, I am slowly starting to rebuild the stash already, and am also starting to work on swatches for some of these new ideas - something I haven't done much of in the past, but am quite excited about doing now.
