While there was apparently no Rapture on Saturday, there was another volcanic eruption here in Iceland. Just over a year since the eruption at Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano Grímsvötn erupted Saturday evening, spewing ash high into the air, blanketing the surrounding farms and communities, and grounding air traffic over Iceland. My friend Inga was at Þingvellir National Park yesterday evening and took these amazing photos of the ash cloud hovering in the sky. She was kind enough to let me post them here - thanks Inga!
